The CCA faculty is expected to attend all its scheduled classes. Policies for jury duty, bereavement, and sick leave are available in the faculty handbook (sections 4.3.3–4 and 5.2.1, respectively), which states if a faculty member misses class for one of the aforementioned reasons, the college will find and compensate a substitute.

However, it is the responsibility of the instructor to arrange for teachers when an approved and planned absence occurs (e.g., a conference). Please communicate with your program chair or divisional director for guidance in all matters that pertain to your absence from a scheduled class.
