Advertising
The Communications Office's goal is to identify, reach, and secure targeted audiences that are interested in CCA .
The senior marketing manager works with the marketing/communications assistant to create an annual advertising schedule that reflects the marketing needs of the college's administrative and programmatic departments.
Together with the marketing/communications assistant, who purchases and project manages all of the college's print and electronic media advertising, the Communications Office is instrumental in securing targeted community visibility to meet the college's enrollment goals.
Additionally, the marketing/communications assistant coordinates pro bono advertising arrangements and media sponsorships whenever it's feasible to do so.
No other persons or departments have the authorization to purchase or design advertising on behalf of CCA.
If an advertising sales representative contacts you, refer the caller to the Communications Office either by email or by calling 415.703.9549.
Plan Your Ad
Advertising for ongoing college programs is typically planned prior to the start of each semester. Please plan well in advance for all advertising to allow time for design and editing. Most monthly publications require ad artwork six weeks or more prior to the publication date. Daily and weekly newspapers generally require less lead time.
• Contact the senior marketing manager to schedule advertising for academic events or programs, including all radio or television advertising. Be prepared to discuss advertising goals, desired targeted market or audience, budget, and the strategic marketing points. Production cannot begin without final copy, so include this with your request, preferably as a Word document. The copy should be consistent with your established goals and objectives. We can also arrange copywriting for you.
• Our team will create a spreadsheet that details the discussed ad plan, including copy and design deadlines, ad sizes, and prices.
• Our office edits and approves all advertising copy for accuracy, as well as to ensure copy adheres to the CCA style guide. If any major changes are suggested, one of the members of the Communications team will notify you.
• The marketing/communications assistant will research media outlets, gatherer price quotes, circulation specs, and all necessary demographic information to ensure maximum advertising results. The marketing/communications assistant purchases all ads, deploying insertion orders (contracts), and assists with all required Business Office paperwork for processing payment.
• A designer will be assigned to the project.
• You will be contacted to review and sign off on the finished ad(s).
• The Communications Office provides the official sign off on all advertising and will be the party to release all final art files for publication and manages all contracts shared between CCA and the media outlets.
To request a single ad for a special event or program, contact the marketing/communications assistant before the stated deadlines (above at right). If the event was announced after the semester deadlines, contact us as soon as possible.
