Diversity Studies

Diversity Studies seminar and studio courses educate and inform students about the contributions of historically underrepresented, indigenous, immigrant, and forced migratory communities to American arts, history, culture, and society.

Community Arts

The Community Arts (COMAR) program is an interdisciplinary, community-based academic program devoted to creative practice in the public sphere. The program focuses on the ways artists and designers interact, collaborate, and intervene in a variety of social networks in order to build sustainable community relationships, engage cultural diversity, and stimulate social transformation.

Engage at CCA

Engage at CCA is a project-based learning initiative launched in the 2009–10 academic year. Participating courses allow students to accomplish existing learning outcomes in partnership with nonprofit organizations in line the goals and values of California College of the Art.
