From 43 students, three classrooms, and three teachers to two campuses, 1,700 students, and more than 400 faculty, California College of the Arts has come a long way in 100 years.

The college celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2007.

A host of exhibitions, lectures, reunions, and other activities took place to commemorate 100 years of this important arts institution.

Centennial Events

A host of programs and events are planned to mark this important anniversary.

More than 30 galleries and museums locally and nationally held exhibitions in conjunction with CCA's centennial. These included a major historical retrospective at the Oakland Museum, a design and architecture show at SFMOMA, and a special printmaking exhibition at the de Young Museum.

Many on-campus events also took place, including a dynamic yearlong lecture series, a juried alumni show in Oliver Art Center, and the Alumni Reunion Weekend.
