How can partnerships among educators, artists, schools, arts organizations, and communities help students develop into artists and scholars? What are some tools and strategies for meaningful collaboration?

By identifying resources in their own schools, organizations, and communities and looking at successful, existing partnerships as models, participants work together to create meaningful art-integration projects.

Participants learn how to:

  • incorporate community art practices into educational settings
  • create and maintain collaborations in which all contributors are equally valued
  • assess learning and projects in an ongoing manner
  • identify and utilize resources for realizing goals
  • make a plan, communicate effectively, and ensure that everyone is getting the most out of the collaboration

At the end of the course, participants will have a binder of tools for planning and implementing collaborations as well as a list of art resources in the Bay Area.
