CCA TI Fall 2008 Courses

Collaborative Curriculum Design

OAK 402
Instructor: Tana Johnson
Sat., 9 a.m.–4 p.m., October 4, October 25, and November 15; with the final session date TBD by participants.
4 sessions. $410. CEU: 2 available through Cal State East Bay. Prerequisites: Currently teaching at a school or community site and enrolled in or completed each AIE core course; or approval of instructor.

In this course, students share their classroom experiences with art and art integration. Each participant will focus on their own point of inquiry, thinking deeply about a pressing issue in their own work. Over the course of the semester, participants gather for three one-day sessions to share successes and challenges with implementation techniques they have learned through AIE courses. A final, 2-hour session meets to share the work of the class with the larger community.

Students learn protocols, tools and frameworks that are useful for evaluating and deepening their practice. In addition to the final 2-hour presentation, students are encouraged to share their visual documentation, research, and projects with their own schools and organizations.
