Museum exhibitions offer not only extraordinary opportunities to supplement your curriculum but also compelling insights into topical issues and concepts. Focusing on the exhibition The African Presence in Mexico: From Yanga to the Present on view at the Oakland Museum of California, teachers are introduced to Studio Habits of Mind and Visual Thinking Strategies.
The workshop includes gallery exercises, small-group work, guest lectures, and practical tips for class museum excursions. Participants learn how to take full advantage of a museum exhibition, from the field trip to the classroom.
