Vanessa Flores has since 2009 worked as an archival assistant for poet and artist [Stephen Vincent], where she assisted in organizing and archiving the letters and ephemera for the late poet Laura Ulewicz.
In 2009 she also interned for Small Press Distribution in Berkeley, California, where she attained an insider's view about distributing independent books.
Most recently, she worked as an intern and manuscript manager for Adapting Sideways, a small writing-consulting agency aimed at both fiction and nonfiction writers.
She currently works for the California Communications Access Foundation, a nonprofit organization mandated by the California Public Utilities Commission, where her writing serves as official public records for California.
Based in Oakland, California, Flores is currently working on her first collection of short stories.
