Alissa Goss

BFA Ceramics, 2008

Alissa Goss is an Oakland-based artist and designer, whose ceramic works have been featured in numerous online publications: Readymade, Design Sponge, and Design-Milk.

She shows her sculpture locally at such venues as the Richmond Art Center, Berkeley Art Center, and Compound Gallery.

Goss's work has been shown nationally through the American Craft Council in Baltimore and internationally through an atelier program in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Alissa is co-owner of Marion and Rose’s Workshop in Old Oakland, which focuses on high craft, good design, and fine art for everyone.

Kari Marboe

BFA Ceramics, 2008

Kari Marboe is currently working on "A Lover’s Discourse," a project that uses a series of photographs to combine Roland Barthes’s book( of the same title), text, and imagery to decipher the nature of coupling/uncoupling. The series demonstrates the artist's continuing interest in autobiography.

Marboe interns at Southern Exposure, a nonprofit arts organization in San Francisco.

She curated MFA Now, a show at Root Division gallery that surveyed the work of MFA students in the visual arts from six Bay Area programs.

Marboe is an artist in residence at the Elsewhere Residency program.
