COURSE DESCRIPTION

DIVSM300 Poetry, Form, Substance

A poetry writing course that will focus on poetry from the thought, to the page, through self-publication. By focusing on the work of established poets, and pursuing an in-depth investigation of a poet, students will write formal non-Western poetry forms (ghazal, bop, senyru, etc.) as well as free verse poetry, and create an individual chapbook or handmade book of their work as a final product.
