ILLUS220 Illus Tools E1:Drawing Wkshp This course is designed to cover formal principals, concepts, and techniques in the art of drawing and the act of seeing. Emphasis will be on the development of visual vocabulary in order to better understand the language of expressive drawing. Once certain skills and concepts have been fully understood we will move into un-chartered territory, i.e. expressive mark-making, structuring pictorial space, experimentation with different tools , materials, and methodology - process of abstraction, etc. Risk taking will be encouraged. All of this activity will culminate in several illustration projects designed to test newly developed skills and conceptual knowledge. |
