ILLUS300 Illustration 3 This course will focus on a variety of media used in creating contemporary illustration by means of weekly assignments. This course will be based on the principles of illustration: strong design, concepts/ideas, craft and execution. Throughout the semester, you will begin to build your own visual vocabulary and further develop ones own voice, vision, and way(s) of making images in response to subjects and assignments. You will be challenged to think 'outside the box', to explore new techniques and ideas and to gain a sense of ownership and self in the works. There will also be a constant focus on critical analysis through individual and group critiques. The instructor will do many painting demos. Please note that the description for this course varies slightly when offered in summer and can be picked up at Student Records Offices. |
