INDIV200 Individualized Mentorship This class helps the student prepare the groundwork for doing interdisciplinary work and helps each individual student evaluate whether the INDI major is appropriate and necessary for him or her. Students are guided to balance their workload across disciplines, to build basic skill sets in multiple media, and to develop critical skills for their own process. The emphasis is on students' defining and writing their INDI "Proposals": which include a proposed curriculum and a "contract" for their Jr. and Sr. years. At the end of this class, students will either be approved as Individualized Majors or will be directed into an already existing major at the college. This course requirement must be completed by the end of the sophomore year (for advanced transfer students after their first semester of attendance at CCA.) No student will be admitted into the individualized major without this approval process. |
