COURSE DESCRIPTION

INDUS112 Modelmaking

An introduction to the tools, techniques, and materials used in the production of both study and presentation models for industrial design. Use of foam, casting/molding, plaster, wood, plastics, and a variety of other materials will be explored through a series of small skill-oriented projects. Students will be introduced to all of the tools in the shop including the vacuu-former, Bridgeport Mill, lathe, router table, and table saw. Finishing techniques with paint will be emphasized in a number of the projects.
