INDUS204 Industrial Design 2 The second in a series of conceptually based design studios, this course reinforces the studies done in Design 1. Through lecture and projects, students will continue to explore the history and range of object types as well as the relationship between function, behavior, and form. Ecological and appropriate thinking methods are reinforced. The idea of process, as one of the first principles of learning how to understand development of ideas and forms, will be highlighted during all projects. Development of documentation skills such as photography and processes book will be taught. Projects are conceptual in nature, but will require validation through an understanding of materials and manufacturing processes learned in the materials and manufacturing courses. |
