INDUS232 IS: Glass Product Design How do you take one of the most elusive, mesmerising and ephemeral materials and turn it into objects that disappear into the landscape? We've been doing it for centuries. From soda bottles to light bulbs, glass is the most hypnotic and under appreciated material around. Throughout the semester we will be reevaluating the material, the object and how to design in a perceived value that is greater than the "Redemption Value" at the local recycle facility. By examining production techniques, material limits and intense design development, we will make objects with meaning. Investigative Studios are Elective Studios within the Industrial Design Program that are also open to students in other majors. Satellite studios are taken in any order. Students can sign up for whichever studio best fits their schedules or interests. |
