INDUS400 Industrial Design 5 ID5 introduces the concept of a PERSON TO PERSON experience surrounding the design of a product or products and the creation of the total brand and product experience. The structure of this design course will survey the impact of our changing culture and new technologies on products. Developing a method to finding the "emotional connection" to products is a challenge but is imperative to developing design concepts that connect to the user. This class is often a collaborative studio with other majors in the college (Fashion, Interior Design, etc.). This multidisciplinary approach stresses the possibility that designers conceive entire stories that intervene outside of the traditional bounds of their field. Projects undertaken in this studio are often industry-sponsored projects. |
