COURSE DESCRIPTION

INDUS404 Senior Project Research
Corequisite: Industrial Design 5

This course is linked to the Senior Project Studio and is the first part of this two-part course. This class continues to build on the notion of design with a full experience in mind: PERSON TO PERSON. The goal here is to fully develop an original and unique experience and integrate all the aspects of the experience into the design project. At the onset of the course the class will develop a thematic constraint that is selected by Senior Studio faculty. This theme will be the underpinning of the work that the students complete during this course and during Senior Project. A written project concept and project support research along with initial concepts will be developed and submitted by the end of the semester. Ideally students will develop their project to 2-3 final design directions. The design concepts, story, drawings and renderings will be developed so that the faculty together with the student will choose a direction to pursue in the second part of the class. Acceptance of the proposal and design direction by the Sr. Studio faculty and a panel of adjunct and affiliate faculty will determine the ability to pursue the design into a Senior Project the following semester
