COURSE DESCRIPTION

INTER100 Space Studio

This course is open to students from all disciplines and serves as an introduction to fundamental notions of architectural space and their visual and material articulations. Students are fully engaged with an examination of design and architectural strategies associated with scale; the creation of three-dimensional built space, the consideration of objects and their discreet spatial relations; the relationship of body and space, encouraging the student's engagement with her/his own body as a spatial, experiential and cultural referent; and the effect of ritual and cultural discourse on various spatial practices.
