COURSE DESCRIPTION

MATHS200 Arch Math 1: Adv Algebra

This mathematics course will assume minimal working knowledge of mathematics and will develop the necessary fluency required in more advanced math and science courses, particularly for Architecture students. However, the focus of the course will be on the conceptual framework where the math ideas find their origins. We will explore the arithmetic and geometric properties of numbers, number systems, and their representations; the structure and reasoning behind proportion and ratio operations; the graphical and algebraic methods for representing numeric and geometric relationships; data structures and the visual display of quantitative information; simulation and experimentation in number theory.
