COMAR208 Art & Society 2:

Art & Society 2 explores the history and practice of philanthropy in art and society. Students will be introduced to concepts and terminology of grantwriting vs fundraising. What has been the history of philanthropy in the arts will be an ongoing discussion as well as actual grant writing practices and budget development. Student will understand the difference between private giving and public funding and visit public grant panels. Actual grants and funding plans will be developed in this class. Students will also be introduced to local and region funding agencies: corporate, foundations, local and state agencies.
