MARCH640 BT: Green Building

This course introduces an integrated approach to sustainable development and the design of high performing green buildings that are regenerative, healthy, durable, and cost-effective over the long term. Benefits and challenges at the global, local and building scales will be discussed. Current and evolving practices will be explained and illustrated through site visits, case studies and the perspectives of a diverse body of practitioners. The course will also address the ethics, politics and policies behind the green building movement, including use of the LEED Rating System.
