WRITE602 GE:Contemp Memoir & Nonfict In this course we'll read short memoirs, personal essays, and other creative nonfiction as a way to begin exploring how writers use personal experience and voice to create a literature that is neither strictly autobiographical nor strictly fictional. We'll examine how a number of accomplished writers employ the genre of "creative nonfiction" to render intensely personal experience onto the page, while asking ourselves what distinguishes autobiographical anecdotes (no matter how compelling or competently executed) from finished works of art. Writers in all genres, Artists in all disciplines, All are Welcome! |
