All continuing students will be assigned a specific block of time to register for classes online and also allowed to register for classes during the makeup dates. Students may also register during the first two weeks of each semester, but this is discouraged due to limited course availability.
Students cannot register for classes after the second week of the term (the add/drop deadline).
Priority registration occurs on each campus simultaneously for four consecutive weeks. Students are assigned appointments based on units completed within their class level. All continuing students will receive their registration appointment time via their CCA email address at the end of October and at the beginning of March.

Registration, which provides new and continuing degree and nondegree students an opportunity to register for classes before they begin, is held at the beginning of each term.
Fall 2008: Registration for the fall 2008 semester is scheduled for Tuesday, August 26 for new incoming transfer and second-degree students and Thursday, August 28, for incoming first-time freshmen. Each registration takes place at the San Francisco campus.
Spring 2009: Registration for the spring 2009 semester is scheduled for Friday, January 9, for the incoming first-time freshmen, transfer, and second-degree students at the San Francisco campus.
New students who have deposited and paid their registration fees may arrange their registration through the Enrollment Services Office, or register on Final Registration Day.
Continuing students should avoid registering or adjusting their schedules at New Student Registration Days.
Members of the community need not be admitted as degree-seeking students in order to take courses at CCA. However, applicants who have been denied admission to the college and wish to enroll as nondegree students must have the prior approval of the college. Such requests must be submitted to the Enrollment Services office.
Nondegree students interested in attending the fall 2008 term, the spring 2009 term, or the fall 2009 term may register at either Final Registration Day on the San Francisco campus on August 26, 2008 (for the fall 2008 term) or on January 9, 2009 (for the spring 2009 term).
Nondegree students should be prepared to document relevant professional and educational experience, particularly for courses that have prerequisites, and to provide evidence of technical competence on equipment when appropriate. Course registration will be on a space-available basis. Because popular classes often fill early, nondegree students are advised to be prepared with alternate selections.
Nondegree classes earn college credit and are charged per the degree program tuition and fee schedule. Nondegree classes must be paid for in full at the time of registration.
CCA is not authorized to issue Certificates of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Students (F-1) or Exchange Visitor Status (J-1) to students enrolled solely in nondegree coursework, including Extended Education.
The Student Records Office monitors class enrollment in the following ways:
CCA maintains cross-registration agreements with Mills and Holy Names colleges. CCA students may register for one regularly scheduled undergraduate course per term at either of these institutions under the following conditions:
Credit is automatically transferred by the host school to CCA for evaluation and transcription. Transcripts are received several weeks after the end of the term and evaluated immediately upon receipt.
The host school is not required to keep a record of your work or to provide transcripts.
Receiving credit depends upon your meeting the academic requirements and deadlines of both CCA and the host school.
Credit received through cross-registration is not considered transfer credit. Grades for cross-registration courses are calculated into your CCA GPA.
Cross-registration calendar information is available in the Records Office at the host school as well as online at the host school's website.
You are responsible for meeting the registration deadlines at the host school, and for any late fees if you miss the deadline.
If you drop or withdraw form the cross-registration course you must adhere to the deadlines of the host school and CCA.
There is no additional tuition cost for cross-registration for full-time CCA students.
Students are responsible for any laboratory or special fees. Students are also responsible for purchasing a parking pass, if necessary.
Consult the schedule of classes available at the school you are interested in attending.
Complete the Cross-Registration Permit form, which should include signatures from the CCA Registrar and an advisor
Present your completed permit to the host school registrar no later than the end of the first week of classes at the host school. Return a copy of the permit to the Student Records Office within one week after the course begins.
If you drop the course, you must inform both schools to avoid a possible "F" grade.
Student enrollment is normally limited to 18 units per semester. Enrollment in more than 18 units requires the student obtain written permission from an advisor for the overload and complete a Supplemental Registration Permit, available in the Student Records Office. Enrollment in more than 18 units is extremely rare and requires additional tuition charges.
