Adobe Creative Suite is the industry standard for digital imaging. Students build an understanding of digital imaging and its terminology during this four-day intensive that introduces how to use Adobe's InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Following a discussion of the applications, including an overview of their basic features, students explore the tools, palettes, menus, and workflows of each through hands-on exercises.

Adobe InDesign is the imminent standard for publishing and page layout because of its ease of learning and seamless integration with other Adobe software. Following a discussion of the program, including an overview of its basic features, students explore the software's tools through hands-on exercises. This one-day class addresses tools, creating a document, page sizes, handling type and text flow, paragraph formatting, and handling pictures.

Adobe Illustrator excels as art production and illustration software because it includes powerful electronic tools that emulate the traditional design tools used to create illustrations. In this hands-on, one-day workshop, students learn the basics of an object-oriented PostScript drawing program. By systematically addressing the function of each tool that comprises the tool palette, students learn how to create and paint basic shapes, as well as draw lines. Students receive an overview of how to work with type and apply the layering elements to an illustration.

Adobe Photoshop, which enables the user to manipulate digital photographic images, has become an essential tool for artists and designers. The first half of this one-day workshop covers the basic concepts and tools of Photoshop; the second half provides an overview of the tools available for colorizing images. Students learn through hands-on exercises how to combine and manipulate images.

This advanced Photoshop workshop includes several hands-on projects. Each project involves step-by-step instructions to create an image, as well as copious explanations and suggested techniques. Topics include advanced layering techniques, the history palette, advanced type techniques, color correction, and production techniques. Because this is a fast-paced workshop, the instructional materials require students have a solid understanding of Photoshop, as well as general computer-graphics terminology. Completion of Photoshop Basics is strongly recommended.

Adobe Dreamweaver MX and Fireworks MX comprise an impressive suite of tools that simplify the organization and construction of websites and allow designers to focus on the design, structure, and content of their sites. This intensive course covers the basics of building great cross-platform, cross-browser websites. Site design and architecture, domain-name registration and web hosting, image optimization , FTP basics, and JavaScript rollovers are explored, explained, and put in practice.
This fast-paced course is geared toward only those who feel confident in their computer skills. One student per Macintoshintosh computer.
