Chris Finley's exhibitions have included Image Processor (Lombard-Freid Projects, New York, 2007), the California Biennial (Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, California, 2002), Game Show (MASS MoCA, North Adams, Massachusetts, 2001), 010101: Art in Technological Times (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, 2001), Twisted: Urban and Visionary Landscapes in Contemporary Painting (Van Abbe Museum, Eindhoven, the Netherlands, 2000), and Defining the Nineties (Museum of Contemporary Art, Miami, Florida, 1996).

In 2003 Chris received the Eureka Fellowship from the Fleishhacker Foundation. He received the SECA Art Award from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 1999.
