Hugh Behm-Steinberg profile image

Poet Hugh Behm–Steinberg is a former Wallace Stegner Fellow in creative writing at Stanford University and the recipient of an NEA fellowship. His books include Shy Green Fields (No Tell Books) and Sorcery (Dusie Chapbook Kollektiv). He is currently collaborating with the composer Guillermo Galindo on an opera about the Donner party.

Behm–Steinberg has taught at the University of Arizona and Stanford and is a member of the graduate and undergradaute writing faculties at CCA, where he has taught courses in mentored study, narrative, book structure, and creative writing for the last 10 years. He also is the editor of Eleven Eleven, CCA's journal of literature and art. Additionally he publishes MaCaHu Press, a chapbook publishing venture, with Caroline Goodwin and Mary Behm-Steinberg.
