Kathleen Fraser has published 15 books of poems, including Il Cuore: The Heart, Selected Poems 1970–1995 (Wesleyan University Press), and a collection of essays, Translating the Unspeakable: Poetry and the Innovative Necessity (University of Alabama Press).

She has taught at the Iowa Writers' Workshop and elsewhere.
