Monica Tiulescu

Monica Tiulescu has been teaching at CCA in the architecture program since 2008 both in the undergraduate and graduate program.
She has a research practice focusing on experimental projects for competitions, exhibitions, and publications.
Monica designs speculative projects that organize material and data assemblages through experimental methods of computational modeling.
Her goal is to invent design methods for spatial and formal conditions based on interactive program situations. Her work examines the urban context as a system to invent new scenarios of occupation that result in forms and material assemblages that capitalize on spontaneous and emergent behavior.
Monica has been teaching at multiple universities both on the east and west coast since 2000. She received a bachelors degree from the Cooper Union and a masters degree from Columbia University.
Adjunct Professor, Architecture
BArch, The Cooper Union; MS, Columbia Graduate School of Design.
