Steven Gilman is CEO at Satori Trading, a management advisory firm and COO / Partner at Studio Asterisk, a boutique design and communications firm in San Francisco. He has held senior positions in technology development, consulting, marketing and management for large international corporate enterprises as well as start-ups and privately held concerns including Metropolitan Life, and Hughes. His expertise has benefited education, digital media, networking infrastructure, communications, technology and biotech companies as well as non-profits. He focuses on marketing, business development, strategy and partnerships, finance and implementation. Among his clients are Sun Microsystems, Triworks Intl, NTT, Network Associates, OneWorld Health, McAfee Security, Applied Materials, Juniper Networks, and Aaron Marcus & Associates.

Mr. Gilman has broad international experience in community development and cross-cultural communications, living throughout South America and Asia, assisting firms that wish to gain an international foothold. He was a frequent executive lecturer to Asian firms including Fujitsu, Hitachi and Softopia on management and emerging technology trends from Ecommerce to Internet and wireless opportunities. Mr. Gilman has led initiatives in the US around telecommunications policy, municipal access and public/private dialogue, bringing together national and regional leaders, creating and co-producing a branded and acclaimed symposium called TeleStructure.

His career includes responsibilities as the technology executive at Metmor Financial, a $20 billion mortgage bank. Other positions held are as consulting and education manager at Information Builders, a business intelligence technology company; principal at Satori Trading, an import and strategic management advisory firm; and marketing director for Interel, an educational tools designer. He has also acted as interim CEO for a personal health management focused startup.

Mr. Gilman teaches capital markets for the dMBA graduate program at California College of the Arts and graduate management and international business at Golden Gate University. He is president emeritus of the North Bay Multimedia Association, a professional media organization; a former vice president and board director of MDG.org, the primary international trade organization for digital media in the Bay Area; and has served on the board of directors of Digital Village Foundation, a public/private policy partnership.
