Susan Gladwin has codeveloped and is now teaching the Sustainability Studio course within the MBA Program in Design Strategy Program together with chair Nathan Shedroff.

Gladwin is a sustainability and marketing consultant who combines a 25-year career in technology marketing with a decade of helping organizations achieve success in a sustainable context. Her current focus is working with companies to define and realize their sustainable brand proposition through their products, programs, and positioning.

Gladwin's love of innovation and passion for delivering a delightful customer experience united her with Apple extensively throughout her career, launching products such as iLife. In addition to Apple, Gladwin Consulting’s client list includes HP, Microsoft, Adobe, PARC, emerging companies in clean technology, and organizations such as Sierra Club and Clean Tech Open.

Gladwin brings to her work visionary and collaborative leadership, practical perspectives, and a deep-seated passion for creative thinking about business in a sustainable context.

As a Commonwealth Scholar, Gladwin earned a computer science degree (with honors) from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She then completed the International Business program at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and stayed overseas to work for IBM in Stockholm, and the Organization for Economic Development in Paris, arriving in California just in time for the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.

In 2006 Gladwin completed a year-long environmental leadership course, called Be the Change, through Acterra in Palo Alto, California.
