Tom Ingalls

It all started for me in Minnesota—where I was born and raised.
After receiving my BFA from Syracuse University, I traveled west to garner my MFA from The California Institute of the Arts in Valencia.
Both of my degrees are in graphic design. My first real job was for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, where I made everything from banners to books and then some.
I was lured to San Francisco by Rolling Stone magazine, and I stayed with the publication until it relocated to New York. I decided to stay in the Bay Area, where I started Ingalls Design.
I first joined AIGA in 1976, and I have worked with museums, publications, wineries and distilleries, restaurants and bars, banks, law firms, and software companies. I find great satisfaction in the many clients and colleagues I have worked with along the way.
I have taught in CCA's Graphic Design Program since 1980.
