Core Studio: Transfer Credit and Placement Evaluation

Core Studio Placement
CCA recognizes the importance of appropriate placement for first-year students who are entering the college. It is of utmost priority to attend to this within the student’s first semester. Placement priority is given to those who have college studio credits and/or have developed college-level work that reflects the Student Learning Outcomes of the college’s Core Studio courses.

Students are considered for placement for all Core Studio courses (Drawing 1, 2D, 3D, and 4D) during portfolio review. This is the only time a portfolio review is offered unless the previous reviewer has noted otherwise.

Beyond the portfolio review deadline, students who withdraw from a Core Studio course are ineligible for a portfolio review or a course waiver from that time forward.
