IwamotoScott designed lobby for new mid-rise commercial development in downtown San Francisco. Lightfold constitutes the percent for art public artwork for the larger development project. Digitally-fabricated LED-backlit translucent wood veneer modules act as coffer/lanterns that define the main ceiling at the lobby's entrance; while edge-lit faceted wood wall panels echo the geometries of these coffer/lantern modules. A 'magic mirror' wall reveals a set of LCD panels displaying historical aspects of the project site behind a mirror wall. The project received the Best of Year Award from Interior Design magazine, Contract magazine Design Award, and Design Citation in the Wood Design Awards.
