Zero waste jacket
We rarely consider the amount of energy spent on a garment’s original production. We have to remember that the textile is also a designed product and not a raw material. Fabric is the embodiment of all the resources that went into its creation; raw material, water and labor. The linear system of buying and disposing of clothing wastes these resources.
In developing my no-waste pattern I initially considered every aspect of the material at hand, from raw material to finished garment. I wanted to address some of the problems we face globally, locally, emotionally, ethically and physically.
