Plaza Adelante a nonprofit hub located in the Mission of San Francisco. It is an ambitious project that combines a number of organizations in one building to provide vital services to the hispanic community of the Mission.
The building reflects the agenda of the organizations it serves through transparency, sharing and facilitated communication. Two large skylights are pieced into the central area of the 1910 brick and truss shell. These light shafts are the populated by the shared elements of the building, a central stair that connects all the non profits, and a shared conference room that looks out on the internal ground floor internal plaza of the building. Each space shares access to light and services allowing all the organizations to find new way to use fewer resources without sacrificing the critical services that they provide for the Latino and immigrant families that they support.
