Henry Urbach became the Helen Hilton Raiser Curator of Architecture + Design at SFMOMA in 2006. His exhibitions to date include California College of Arts at 100: Innovation by Design, Your tempo: Olafur Eliasson, Cut: Revealing the Section, 246 and Counting: Recent Architecture and Design Acquisitions and Double Down: Two Visions of Vegas.
Prior to joining the museum, for nearly 10 years, he directed Henry Urbach Architecture, a gallery of contemporary art and architecture in New York. He completed his MArch at Columbia University and his MA in history and theory of architecture at Princeton University. Henry has taught at Parsons School of Design and other architecture schools in the New York area and has written about art and architecture for many catalogues, books, magazines, and journals. He is currently working on a book about installation architecture.
