Kate Fowle

A co-director of art2102, she also co-runs the backroom, an itinerant research-oriented project that provides access to artist's source materials. Prior to this she was a curator on the UK. Fowle is the recipient of the Chalsty Award for Aesthetics (2007) and the Fund for Art Research from the American Center Foundation (2007). Publications include What We Want Is Free: Generosity and Exchange in Recent Art, ed. Ted Purves (SUNY Press, NY, 2005); Cautionary Tales, ed. Steve Rand (Apex Art, NY, 2007).
