Michele Wetherbee

Michele Wetherbee has been the creative director for Harper One and O'Reilly Media; the art director for Harcourt Trade Children's Books; and a consulting art director for Chronicle Books, Travelers' Tales, and others.

She has personally designed and headed design teams that have created conferences, trade shows, web initiatives, brand identities, product packaging, collateral, and hundreds of books.

During her career, Michele has received dozens of design awards, including AIGA 50 Best Books, Communication Arts Annual, AIGA Issues & Causes, CLIO, Print's Regional Design Annual, The New York Art Directors Club, The New York Book Show, Western Art Directors Club, Graphic Design USA, and the Society of Illustrators Original Art Show; and has lectured at numerous publishing conferences.

Michele was appointed adjunct professor to CCA's Graphic Design faculty in 1999. She has
taught Typography 1, 2, and 4; Graphic Design: Intro, 1, and 2; and the Investigative Studio: Graphic Agitation, an original course that focuses on the designer's responsibility in authoring socially responsible projects to effect societal change. Additionally, she has served on thesis committee.
