Traveling Scholars Program

Established in 2000, the RMW - Matthew R. Mills Traveling Scholars Program gives Interior Design students the opportunity to travel as a cohort with chair Katherine Lambert and faculty members Peony Quan and Tony Spurlock, visiting cities such as Columbus, Indiana; Shaker Village, Kentucky; Chicago; Palm Springs; and Las Vegas.

Students explore broad design-related themes, including materials, communities of making, design-driven environments, and branded environments.

Each year, between 10 and 19 students have had the benefit of traveling with Matthew Mills, his participation in critiques, or both.

The program receives support from the Architectural Foundation of San Francisco.
