This class will look at contemporary painting from 1960-2000. We will explore painting's relationship to some of the critial "isms" of those times: Postmodernism, Feminism, Multiculturalism, and Pluarlism. We will also examine the influences of contemporary culture: cartoons/comics, animation, advertising and design. There will be particular emphasis on work from the last decade.
