Film/Video

Through individual projects and group exercises, students learn to develop and express ideas using light, time, and sound. They gain technical skills in all aspects of film and video, including writing, camerawork, lighting, and sound recording as well as postproduction editing techniques using Final Cut Pro. Through screenings and readings, the class dissects the language of the moving image, explores its history, and discusses the ways in which artists have used moving images over the past century as well as the innovative work being done today. In addition to hands-on projects, the course includes screenings, critiques, and at least one field trip to a state-of-the-art editing facility. Participants are welcome to use their own video cameras.

Film/Video is an all-day studio.
