Renata Carettoni Abma Amphibious City (Aerial View)

The premise of this project is to create a hybrid/amphibious community on redeveloping Treasure Island. The urban planning strategy is one that questions the boundaries of the city. This is done through breaking the boundaries of land and water and harnessing the great potential of tidal power to fully sustain the proposed community. The design uses marine turbines as a two-fold element. It produces the necessary energy to run the city and also functions as structural support for the buildings.
