California College of the Arts offers enrollment in the following three-year, dual-degree graduate programs:

How to Apply to a Dual-Degree Program

For admission consideration in a dual-degree program, prospective students must select the dual program of their choice on the electronic application and submit all required materials for each area within the dual degree. Applications for the dual-degree programs paired with Visual and Critical Studies will be found under the Visual and Critical Studies application. The Design and Design Strategy dual-degree application will be found under the Design Strategy application. Please note: admission committees may choose to admit an applicant to a single degree program.

Personal Essay

Please follow the essay requirement instructions for each program indicating your interest to pursue a dual degree. Please note: applicants will need to upload one document that includes both personal essays separated by a page break.

Résumé / Curriculum Vitae

Please upload a résumé or curriculum vitae when applying online.

Letters of Recommendation

Prospective students must register two recommenders online. Be sure each recommender tailors the letter of recommendation for the dual program you are applying to and why you would be a good fit in the program.

Official College Transcripts

Applicants need send only a single set of official transcripts.

Please note: Official, sealed transcript of undergraduate coursework must be sent to the Enrollment Services Office—Graduate Admissions (address below). Applicants who have taken graduate coursework are welcome to also send transcripts in support of their graduate application.
