Join us in Creating the Future of Culture. California College of the Arts was founded on the utopian idea—central to the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th and 20th centuries—that art and life can move toward a closer rapport.
Even today the principles that art matters to life and that life itself is the essential basis for art are at the heart of a CCA education. These simple yet powerful ideals give CCA students a stable foundation from which to navigate the challenging territory of cultural production in the 21st century.

CCA is still accepting undergraduate enrollment applications. If you are an undergraduate, you may submit your application online by selecting the "Apply Now" link in the upper right-hand corner above.
Note: CCA practices rolling admission for undergraduate consideration, reviewing applications in the order in which they're received. Notification occurs within two to four weeks of receipt of a completed application.
To better familiarize yourself with all that CCA offers, visit CCA at a Glance to take a virtual tour of each campus, learn about noteworthy alumni, and gain an overview of campus community, including our year-round special events.
Note: the graduate admissions deadline to submit applications and support materials for all fall 2008 programs has passed.
Only by contacting Director of Graduate Admission Noel Dahl at ndahl@cca.edu will late applications (after May 1, 2008) to the graduate division be accepted. All late application submission requests are reviewed on a case-by-case, space-available basis and no guarantee for application review exists at this time.
California College of the Arts admits to the graduate program students who have demonstrated intellectual promise and creative achievement. The analysis of candidates is conducted by review of student work, statements about this work, transcripts, and letters of recommendation.

What does it mean to be a creative practitioner in a world of global economies, ecological challenges, and changing political and social realities? How does one take the lessons of the complex world and transform them into positive, innovative practice and creative expression? We do not dictate answers to these important questions, but rather we encourage students to find personal responses by gaining a more critical understanding of the world while delving into their own core motivations.
