Laura Splan is a New York--based mixed-media artist. Her conceptually driven work employs a variety of materials and processes to address our relationship with the human body and its biological functions. She often uses comfortable domestic imagery and craft processes to foil more unsettling scientific and medical imagery.
Splan holds a BFA from the University of California, Irvine, and received her MFA in sculpture from Mills College. Her website is www.laurasplan.com.
