Christian Jankowski is a multimedia artist working in video, photography, performance, and literature. Blurring the borders between fiction and reality, private and public, his work is both subversive and entertaining. Jankowski takes an unafraid, acute, humorous, and thoughtful look at the human condition, bringing into play consumerism and commodification, globalization and the media, and even the art world in which he himself operates. He has exhibited at Portikus, Frankfurt, Germany; De Appel, Amsterdam; Kölnischer Kunstverein, Cologne; Goethe-Institut, Paris; the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London; and the Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford; among many other venues.
