Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla
Graduate Studies Lecture Series
Tuesday, November 27, 2007, 7 pm

Timken Lecture Hall, San Francisco campus
Info: 415.703.9505

Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla have worked together since 1995 to create disarmingly playful critiques of politically, culturally, and economically invested sites. Through sculpture, photography, installations, and social practices, they bring together disparate groups and interests, occasionally to incendiary effect. Based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Allora and Calzadilla have exhibited widely at such venues as the Serpentine and Whitechapel galleries in London, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston. At CCA they will discuss their first curatorial project, Apocalypse Now, an exhibition at the Wattis Institute that addresses the philosophy of war.

Cosponsored by the Wattis Institute.
