Alluring Subversions is an exhibition and series of dialogues exploring the tension between culture and nature, art and the everyday. Participating artists investigate this intersection, ask questions, and propose ideas for the future, creating unexpected spaces for reflection, dialogue, and thought. Their works are alluring objects that subvert the status quo without being explicitly political, inviting us to push boundaries and reconsider our relationship with the world.

Alluring Subversions looks to breach the gap between artist and community by generating a space for dialogue in the form of two artist talks. Each talk will feature a different group of six participating artists who will present their work. An open dialogue will follow the presentations to explore the function and place of the artist within the community and in relation to the contemporary cultural discourse. The artist talks take place October 8 and October 15 in Timken Lecture Hall on CCA's San Francisco campus.

Participating artists include CCA faculty, alumni, and current graduate and undergraduate students: Kim Anno, Alicia Escott, Chris Finley, Terri Friedman, Renee Gertler, Rema Ghuloum, Jeffrey Gibson, Bryson Gill, Maggie Haas, Hyun Sun Jo, Sean Leake, Maysha Mohamedi, Hilary Pecis, Catherine Ryan, Anna Morales Simson, Alice Rousseau Warnecke, Travis Wyche, Marie Abigail Zialcita
