Alumni Walk-Through: Ralph Borge: A Symbolic Realist and His Circle

Please join us for a special alumni walk-through of Ralph Borge: A Symbolic Realist and His Circle at the Hearst Art Gallery at St. Mary's College in Moraga. This is the first retrospective of this monumental symbolic realist, CCA alumnus, and influential teacher, who passed away December 30, 2008.
Mr. Borge (Painting 1952) taught art at CCA for almost 40 years. Exhibition curator and alumnus Jim Whiteaker (Drawing 1977) will lead alumni through the tour, which is followed by a reception (wine and cheese will be served).
The exhibition features an impressive collection of works by CCA alumni who studied under Mr. Borge: Don de Viveiros, Jack Ford, Richard Gayton, Pam Glover, Gerald Gooch, Fred Kling, Philip Linhares, Richard McLean, Jack Mendenhall, Kim Mendenhall, Vincent Perez, James Torlakson, and Jim Whiteaker. The exhibition also features works by Martha Borge, the artist's widow and noted painter and teacher.
